Attorney Rice concentrates in estate planning, probate, tax preparation and planning, family business succession planning, real estate, asset protection and elder law including Medicaid and VA eligibility. With 37 years of legal experience in estate planning, he provides his clients with services such as powers of attorney, wills, all types of trusts, and other planning techniques. He also advises on the formation, and income tax consequences of business entities such as limited liability companies, partnerships, corporations, and non-profits. Our firm counsels families preserve and protect their land legacy.
Attorney Rice frequently makes house calls, where your kitchen table can serve as the conference room. Our firm’s Ohio clients range from the borders of Indiana, Michigan, and West Virginia.
Mr. Rice is also a member and past president of the Van Wert County Bar Association, as well as a member of the Ohio State Bar Association. He was admitted into the Ohio Bar in 1980 and the U.S. District Court, Northern District, Ohio, in 1981. In 1981 Mr. Rice was admitted into the United States Tax Court. Mr. Rice is a member of WealthCousel, a national organization for estate planning attorneys and ElderCounsel, a national organization for attorneys that specialize in elder law, Medicaid, and special needs law. He is also an accredited attorney by the Veterans Administration.
Earl J. Rice received a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from The Ohio State University in 1975, and continued his education graduating with a Masters of Business Administration degree in 1977. He immediately entered the University of Cincinnati College of Law, graduating with his law degree in 1980.
Mr. Rice has served as a member of the U.S. Jaycees and is an active member of the US JCI Senate, where he serves on the charitable foundation.
